Medicines from the forest
Project duration: 3 years (2023–2025)
Country: Bolivia, Tumupasa (Amazonía Sur)
Partner organization: Fundación Comunidad Plural (C-Plural)
Deforestation, mining, and extensive agriculture are a threat to the livelihood of the indigenous Tacana people. Particularly women with a broad knowledge of traditional herbal medicine – that is very widespread in Bolivia – have something to counter this threat. The C-Plural foundation helps the female botanic experts to improve production processes and marketing of their products.
